The recent News items on recoveries of Welsh ringed birds in Finland and Poland have provoked some interesting exchanges of view about movement of birds through the Baltic en route to and from their northern breeding grounds. See the comments from Tony Fox in Denmark (PDF) and Adriaan De Jong in Sweden (PDF).
These issues were also addressed in the presentation by Bob Swann on ‘Scottish Winter Curlew – population trends’ (PDF) given at the Scotland Conference in September 2018.
The text of the AEWA (African-Eurasian Waterbird Agreement) ISSAP (International Single Species Action Plan for the Conservation of the Eurasian Curlew) (PDF) is available in the Literature Library.
